Learn about Matt and how he got into guided fishing.

As a young child Matt began fishing with his dad and grandfather here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. They spent their summers fishing in the San Juan Islands. Together, they taught him everything they knew about targeting Salmon and operating safely out on the water.

At the age of 10, Matt’s family purchased a beach house on Hood Canal and there he began fishing on his own. As a boy he was so devoted to fishing that he began mowing lawns to earn the money to buy his first boat. Many lawns later, and after his family had committed to pay the other half, Matt was able to purchase his very first boat, all his own. He spent every weekend during the summer searching out spots to catch fish. Over the years Matt has spent many hours on the water all over our beautiful state, guiding and of course fishing with his family and friends.

In 2012 Matt decided it was time to make a career out of his beloved pastime and started his business.

Get Hooked NW has quickly accrued more and more return clientele and Matt has become a well known, but more importantly he has become a well respected guide in the fishing community.

He keeps an impeccable track record when it comes to all the things that make a great day out on the water. As with any career, you need to keep up with the current information in your field of study. He learns more about how to target Salmon and Steelhead in our waters here in the beautiful Northwest by continuing his education as well as time spent on the water. In fact Matt is often invited to speak at seminars offering his expertise to interested anglers in communities around Washington.

Fishing is my passion and there is nothing better than being a part of landing a fish, whether that person be an avid fisherman or a first timer. I have spent countless hours on the water perfecting my craft and take pride in what I do. I will work hard all day to provide you with a fun and safe day on the water.

Matt holds a USCG license and is licensed in Washington State for guided fishing and charter fishing operations. Additionally, he holds a charter license in Oregon.
