In mid-September the Humptulips River, (located a few miles east of Ocean Shores, WA) opens for its fall run of Chinook and Coho salmon. The mouth of the river is in Grays Harbor. The fish come in to the harbor and wait for rain to fill the river so they can swim up. By October, (depending on rainfall) the river is full of fresh fish. We target these fish from our Drift Boat. We float down 7-10 miles of river in an 8-10 hour day. These trips are action packed with multiple hook ups being the norm. The fishing continues into December for Coho and by Thanksgiving, Steelhead have entered the river as well and become part of the catch. $200.00 per person.
